Cracker Barrel builds on its support of U.S. Air Force Reserve Band

July 4, 2010

It’s become quite a tradition in Warner Robins, Georgia. Each year on the 4th of July, the United States Air Force Reserve Band performs a free concert for the community to thank those who do so much to support their military families.

This year, the crowd really turned out! An estimated 20,000 people packed McConnell-Talbert Stadium to enjoy the Reserve Band along with special guest Diamond Rio.

Coordinating a concert event of this size takes an incredible team of people who ensure the music and fireworks all happen seamlessly. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® helped out by providing the lunch and dinner meals for all of the musicians and crew members.

"As you'd imagine it takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes to put this Independence Day concert together, so it becomes a pretty big community effort. Tom Kelly and his folks at the local Warner-Robins Cracker Barrel restaurant were key players on this team and helped make it our biggest concert ever,” said Maj. Gen. Martin Mazick, Vice Commander, Air Force Reserve. “The show was broadcast to about 1.3 million troops around the world on American Forces Network. Our nation's courageous Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen didn't get to sample the backstage meals, but they did get a great a taste of home with the music and celebration which the Cracker Barrel team allowed us to provide."

The event marked the third time that Cracker Barrel has been involved with supporting a USAF Reserve Band concert.
