Rising country star’s sophomore album releases at Cracker Barrel®
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® today announced 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year Cole Swindell’s sophomore album “You Should Be Here” will be available at all Cracker Barrel stores nationwide and online at crackerbarrel.com on May 6, 2016.
“You Should Be Here” features 12 tracks, including Swindell’s current single of the same name that takes listeners on an emotional journey of the singer experiencing life and recent successes without his late father. Swindell was named Top New Country Artist by Billboard and was awarded CMA’s Triple Play Award in 2015 for having at least three No. 1 songs in 12 months. He is also a four-time BMI Award winner for No. 1 hits he wrote for award-winning country music artists Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line.
“This album means a lot to me and partnering with Cracker Barrel to have it in their stores is very exciting,” said Swindell. “I am a big fan of the brand so it was a natural fit to team up with them to have ‘You Should Be Here’ in its stores nationwide.”
“Country music is as intrinsic to the Cracker Barrel brand as the southern hospitality and comfort food that we’re known for,” said Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Senior Marketing Manager Julie Ulmer. “By including artists like Cole in our music program, we’re able to bring our brand to life not only inside the four walls of our stores, but also while guests enjoy the music in their daily lives.”
“Cole is an extremely talented singer and songwriter, who recently participated in Cracker Barrel’s Content Creator Suite at the ACM Party For A Cause Festival in Las Vegas,” Ulmer continued. “He was a welcomed addition then, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share his latest album with our guests now.”
Cracker Barrel has released albums with a wide variety of artists, some of which have debuted in top spots on a range of Billboard charts. Recent Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Spotlight Music includes the brand’s first pop albums with a cappella group Pentatonix and “Fight Song” singer Rachel Platten, its first R&B album with Anthony Hamilton, as well as recent albums from Michael W. Smith and Joey+Rory.
Cracker Barrel’s music program presents a unique opportunity for the company to connect with consumers through an array of musical genres and artists. Most recently, Cracker Barrel powered the ACM Content Creator Studio at the Party For A Cause® Festival where some of today’s top country music artists, including Swindell, created original content alongside social media stars for their various digital channels.

Written by Swindell and Ashley Gorley, the song was the most added on country radio the first day it dropped and shot to No. 1 on iTunes Country chart and Top 10 overall. The single, which impacted radio on January 11, 2016 held a multi-week run at No. 1 on both the Billboard and Mediabase country airplay charts and has sold over 550,00 tracks and surpassed 30 million streams. “You Should Be Here” follows Swindell’s first four consecutive No. 1 singles as a solo artist (including his latest Gold-certified No. 1 hit “Let Me See Ya Girl,” along with Platinum-certified mega hits “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and “Chillin’ It”), all from his Platinum-certified first album. In the two short years since releasing the self-titled debut album, Swindell has earned more than 250 million streams and sold over 4.4 million tracks. Additionally, he has co-written eight of the biggest No. 1 songs in country music for some of the format’s hottest starts, including five chart-toppers and Luke Bryan’s “Rollercoaster,” Florida Georgia Line’s “This Is How We Roll” and Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some of That.” Named a Top New Country Artist by Billboard, Swindell was awarded CMA’s “Triple Play Award” in 2015 for having (at least) three No. 1 songs in twelve months as well four BMI Awards the same year. In addition to his win for 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year, he was also nominated for CMA Awards’ “New Artist of the Year” and named Music Row’s Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year.
